Subsequent clicks on the editor button use the selected default.
How It Works
Section titled “How It Works”Vertical Tabs runs a shell command pointed at the workspace directory. VS Code is opened via its CLI tool. All other editors use the macOS open -a command:
| Editor | Command |
|---|---|
| VS Code | code <dir> |
| Cursor | open -a Cursor <dir> |
| Zed | open -a Zed <dir> |
| IntelliJ IDEA | open -a "IntelliJ IDEA" <dir> |
| Xcode | open -a Xcode <dir> |
| Terminal | open -a Terminal <dir> |
| iTerm2 | open -a iTerm <dir> |
Finder uses the system’s native open handler to show the directory in a Finder window.
